Wide Bay Charters operates bus, minibus and coach charter out of Hervey Bay on Queensland's Fraser Coast. We run school and community groups, corporate shuttles, weddings, airport and ferry transfers, and private day tours through the Wide Bay–Burnett region.

The business is part of the Waggie Group, which also operates Cooee Tours Australia, Cooee Coach Charters, Sunshine Coast Bus Lines, Byron Bay Buses and Party Party Bus. That group connection is useful for two reasons: it gives us reach beyond our own depot when a job runs down the coast, and it means Bus Buck$ loyalty credit earned with us can be spent across the group.

How we work

Charter work goes wrong in predictable ways — a vehicle that cannot physically get down the street, a waiting charge nobody mentioned, a driver who does not know that the boat leaves the harbour at 8:15 sharp. We try to kill those problems at quote stage by asking more questions up front than you might expect.

• We ask for the exact pick-up address, not just the suburb, so we can check coach access
• We put waiting time and inclusions in writing before you commit
• We build realistic drive times, including the rest breaks the law requires on longer runs
• We tell you when a job is better done with two smaller vehicles than one big one
• We say no when we cannot do it properly rather than take the booking

Hervey Bay's calm, K'gari-sheltered water is why humpbacks stop here and why the town became the world's first Whale Heritage Site. It also means our busiest charter months follow the whale season, and that early-morning harbour departures are the single most common transfer we do. We know which harbour gate to use, where a 57-seat coach can actually turn around, and how long the barge queue at River Heads runs on a school holiday.
